Anonymous comments

Ever since I changed the way my comment window shows up, I've gotten tons of anonymous spam comments. They're really annoying. One was a friend so I hate not to allow anonymous comments but I think I'm going to have to go there. I'll be glad when Blogger fixes their glitches as I didn't have that problem with the embedded comment format. I still reject them before they appear but it's a pain to get up everyday and find half a dozen or more spam comments.

Anyone else notice this?

  1. YES!

All of a sudden I have a gazillion spam comments. i thought it was because I got onto tat-ology from my daughter's computer... a virus? But I have a Mac, so I did not understand how that could happen...

At any rate, I just changed the comment format, in desperation, thinking it might stop the spam.

I see I am not the only one.
    Blogger better get busy.

  2. Blogger thinks I am spam, so I don't get spam comments. I don't allow anonymous comments either, so that may help.

    Blogger, I'm not spam!

  3. I have not received that many spam comments. a few, it takes about 2 weeks to get 15 or so. then I go through them and hit delete.
other then that, no problems. I just changed to embedded commments, so that I can make replies directly to comments made, instead of a new comment, or sending an email.

  4. That is why I did the word code thing, way too many spam things. Of course it would help if I updated my blog more often than I do. lol. I use an alias for my real name no reason to have no name or anonymous for name. But that is my opinion .

  5. I think its time Blogger got the problems sorted out and had a better way of getting rid of spam.

I get a few I had a message box in my sidebar and had to remove it as it was only spam comments going in it.

I think spam is just a way of life and the only way to deal with it is to delete it one day they will get fed up with leaving them.
